Coastal restaurant brings fresh flavors to New Jersey Shores |
Highlighting seafood restaurant specialties and the excitement of a new restaurant opening |
Manasquan's dining scene is set to be invigorated with the arrival of Coastal Canteen, a new seafood restaurant opening at 142 Main Street.
This latest venture from the Jersey Shore Restaurant Group promises to deliver a fresh, coastal-inspired dining experience.
The restaurant's interior design embraces a light and elegant aesthetic, featuring soft blue tones and wood accents that evoke the serene coastal environment.
Adding to the ambiance, the space showcases artwork by lifelong Jersey Shore local David Turton, whose pieces capture the beauty of the area's coastal towns.
Leading the culinary team is Chef Andre Barbero, whose journey has come full circle.
Starting his career bussing tables at Harpoon Willy's at 15, Chef Barbero has honed his skills in esteemed kitchens along the East Coast.
His vision for Coastal Canteen includes bold flavors and fresh ingredients that encapsulate the spirit of the Jersey Shore.
The menu boasts vibrant dishes with coastal flair, featuring shareables, handhelds, entrées, and a raw bar.
Highlights include the Coastal Canteen burger topped with mushroom jam, house aioli, and aged cheddar; rock shrimp bucatini with garlic shallot confit, green onion, and breadcrumbs; and seared scallops with duck fat, chicken broth, blistered pearl onions, tomatoes, and basil.
Seafood is sourced locally, with clams, fluke, and lobster from Atlantic Offshore Fishery.
The coastal theme extends to the cocktail menu, featuring signature drinks like the "Canteen Cooler," made with vodka, watermelon, fresh lime, basil, and club soda, and the "Hightide Cooler," crafted with gin, cucumber, mint, lemon, elderflower, and tonic.
While an official opening date has not been announced, the restaurant has been actively sharing updates on social media, indicating that the launch is imminent.
Once open, kitchen hours will be 4 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
