Two French bulldogs abandoned in Shark River Park, Monmouth County, have become symbols of both cruelty and resilience this week.

 

The dogs, named Diamond and Sapphire, were discovered shivering together by a caring resident who alerted the Monmouth County SPCA.  

Both pups showed alarming evidence of starvation — but Diamond’s case was critical, with X-rays revealing her stomach full of glass shards likely swallowed while scavenging.
