Belmar Fire Department crews battled thick smoke to save a trapped German Shepherd, Luca, from a blazing first-floor closet.

 

The quick-acting team pulled the scared dog to safety amid rising flames on that cold December evening.

 

Belmar Police officers spotted and secured another unharmed dog outside the home.
