Pet Adoption Event at New Jersey Shores

Featuring the spring fling event and the doggy costume parade

Spring is in the air, and so are wagging tails!

Mark your calendars for the return of the Spring Fling Pet Adoption Event, a lively afternoon packed with family fun, festive activities, and plenty of lovable pets ready to find their forever homes.

Join us on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility, 615 Freemont Avenue, Jackson, for a celebration you and your four-legged friends won’t want to miss.

Hosted by the Ocean County Health Department and the Volunteer Auxiliary, Inc., this year’s Spring Fling promises even more smiles, snuggles, and springtime surprises.

Ocean County Commissioner Deputy Director Jennifier Bacchione, Liaison to the Ocean County Board of Health, says the event is designed to bring the community together in the best way possible.

“Spring Fling is one of those special days where families can slow down, have fun together, and maybe even meet a new best friend,” said Commissioner Bacchione.

“Whether you’re dressing up your pup for the costume parade or just enjoying the festivities, it’s a wonderful way to celebrate the season and support our shelter pets.”

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

Doggy Costume Parade – Show off your pup’s most creative, colorful, or downright adorable look.

Easter Bunny Photo Op – Capture a picture-perfect spring memory with your pet and the Easter Bunny.

Doggy Easter Egg Hunt – A treat-filled adventure guaranteed to get tails wagging.

Meet Adoptable Cats & Dogs – Spend time with incredible animals who are ready to become part of your family.

While the event is filled with games and laughter, its mission is heartfelt and important.

Daniel Regenye, Public Health Officer for the Ocean County Health Department, emphasized the deeper purpose behind the celebration.

“Spring Fling shines a spotlight on the amazing cats and dogs in our care who are waiting for a second chance,” said Regenye.

“If you’ve been thinking about adding a pet to your household, this is the perfect opportunity to adopt and make a real difference.

Every adoption opens the door to a brighter future for a deserving animal.”

All pets available for adoption are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations – ready to head home with their new families.
