Freehold Restaurant Earns National Acclaim on Yelp's Top 100 List

618, a modern American restaurant and banquet hall, was named one of the best places to eat in the country for 2026.

A Monmouth County restaurant is getting national recognition, proving once again that the Jersey Shore’s culinary scene is a force to be reckoned with. Freehold’s 618, a popular modern American restaurant and event space, has landed a coveted spot on Yelp’s annual “Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S.” for 2026, coming in at number 95.

Since opening in 2016, 618 has become a local favorite, known for its sophisticated yet approachable menu featuring elevated American classics, from high-quality steaks and fresh seafood to creative pasta dishes. The restaurant, owned by Matthew Borowski and Chef Christopher Dutka, has also established itself as a premier destination for weddings and other special events in the area.

The honor is a testament to the consistent quality and service that has garnered the establishment rave reviews from diners. Yelp’s list is compiled based on a variety of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews from its millions of users, making it a true reflection of customer satisfaction.

This is not the first success for the entrepreneurial duo of Borowski and Dutka. They are also the minds behind Mezcal, a Mexican steakhouse in Old Bridge that opened in 2025 to critical acclaim, and they have plans to launch a new Italian eatery, Elizabeth, in the same town later this spring. The national recognition for 618 shines a welcome spotlight on the thriving and diverse dining landscape of Monmouth County.
